Riverdale and Rotators Seasons Cancelled

To all Riverdale and Rotators members:

The Board of the Royal Canadian Curling Club has voted to close the club effective immediately, in order to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission among members, staff, guests, and their families and friends. This decision was taken with the greatest concern for the health and well-being of everyone who enjoys the Royal Canadian Curling Club, and a step that is socially responsible during these unique times.

As everyone is aware, the NBA, NHL, MBL, Women’s World Curling and many other sport events have suspended their operations. Health Canada is also recommending that everyone stop any non-essential travel. This can be extended to non-essential activities, including curling.

Accordingly, the executive of the Riverdale and Rotators curling leagues is hereby cancelling the remainder of the 2019-2020 season. The executive will continue to discuss logistics as it relates to the final standings and playoffs, as well as the year end banquet and AGM. Please stay tuned for more information.

For anyone who needs to gather equipment from the club, arrangements will be made for the club to be open in order for you to do this. Please watch for further communications in this regard.

This is a fast moving and uncertain time, and we thank you for your patience. We understand this announcement will come as a disappointment, however the health and safety of all members and the community at large must take priority. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact a member of the executive.

Please wash your hands, listen to public health authority advice, and we look forward to curling with you again as soon as possible.
