Do It On The Ice 2022 Riverdale Bonspiel SAVE-THE-DATE!

March 4-6, 2022… It’s gonna be a Golden Time!

Prize structure for the 2021-22 Season

This season we have made the decision to re-allocate the aggregate prize money to divisional playoff winners (and runners up), in response to feedback from many members that the aggregate prize was only available to a small group of teams in A and B divisions. While prize money will no longer be awarded to the aggregate winner (i.e. the team that had the most overall points at the end of the regular season), we will continue to recognize them at the year end banquet and in the Trophy Archive on the Riverdale website.

Nationals Update

Are you interested in representing our leagues at the Canadian Gay Curling Championship (CGCC)? After taking last year off, Nationals will be held in Saskatoon this season, from March 10 to 13. Playdowns for the chance to represent Toronto are open to any current members of Riverdale and Rotators.

Our teams continue to be competitive in this event, earning us the right to send two teams in 2022. The league is working to set up playdowns for the afternoon of January 8, 2022. The last day to register will be December 12.

Please see the Rock the River Cup and CGCC section below for more details about what is happening in Saskatoon.

January 8th Strategy and Skills Clinic

As we welcome so many new members to the league this season, the executive has been working to ensure everyone has the opportunity to learn more about our great game.

In conjunction with nationals playdowns, we plan to run a clinic focusing more on strategy and understanding the game. This will most likely take the form of watching the nationals playdown teams and discussing their strategy, with experienced curlers watching to provide commentary and answer questions. There may be an opportunity to hone some specific skills on the ice as well.

If you have any suggestions as to what you would like to see, please help us develop a program that fits your needs. To register, please fill out this form: https://forms.gle/1ptAjAto99R7Kwkr8
