Hello Riverdale members,
We continue to see an increasing number of positive COVID cases reported among bonspiel participants. As such, for those members curling this weekend, we are strongly encouraging the use of masks while on the ice as well as when moving throughout the club, particularly for those who attended the bonspiel. Should you choose not to wear a mask for your game, please ensure that all others on your sheet are comfortable with this.
If you tested positive but will be outside the 5 days of isolation requirement, you must still wear a well-fitted mask while in public for an additional 5 days. This is in line with requirements for those who are considered close contacts of confirmed positive COVID cases but who are not themselves sick as well as people who tested positive but are outside the isolation requirements. Please see Ontario.ca/exposed and the City of Toronto COVID requirements for further information.
If you are feeling sick, test positive, have been contacted directly as a close contact of a positive case, or are concerned about a possible exposure over the bonspiel weekend, please try to utilize the available ice time on April 2nd to make up any missed games this Sunday. For make-up games, please email firstname.lastname@example.org as soon as possible so that we can do our best to accommodate all requests.
We wish anyone that is sick a full and speedy recovery.
Also, as a reminder, we will “spring forward” for daylight saving on Sunday March 13. Don’t forget to set your clocks forward (for anyone who still relies on physical alarm clocks) – especially those on the 9AM draw!
Canadian Gay Curling Championships & Rock the River Cup
On a more positive note (excuse the pun), the Canadian Gay Curling Championships and the Rock the River Cup in Saskatoon are underway, with all games being live streamed. If you’re looking to watch some more curling in between Brier draws, you can access the draw and live stream links here and cheer on our Toronto teams!
As always, feel free to reach out to the executive with any questions or concerns.
