Gay Curling has existed in Toronto since 1962. What started with a handful of interested curlers has expanded to two full leagues boasting more than 250 members and ties to LGBTQI2S curling associations across Canada.
Riverdale Curling League plays on Sundays and Rotators plays on Wednesday evenings. Both leagues welcome novice or experienced curlers, and sponsor yearly bonspiels. Traditionally, these bonspiels are attended by gay men and lesbians from across Canada and provide our curlers with opportunities for fun competition and lasting friendships.
What is LGBTQI2S?
LGBTQI2S is an umbrella terms that stands for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer (or Questioning), Intersex, and Two-Spirit. GayCurl.ca uses this term in line with terminology currently used by Egale and its Sport Inclusion Task Force.
